+There seems to be an issue with Android 7 and Android 8, that even if you disable battery optimization, GPS is lost at some point. This can lead to unexpected situation on the road. +If you tried everything above and still see issues, then there is the option to use the [[https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=biz.obake.team.touchprotector|Touch Protector]] app.  This app allows you to keep the display enabled, so the Kurviger app won't be put in the background and battery optimizations won't be enforced. The app allows you to lock the screen and even to create a black overlay to save energy (especially true for smartphones with OLED screens).
