Offline Routing Guide

Offline routing is only available in Kurviger Pro. If you want to use offline routing, you can get Kurviger Pro here. Offline routing allows you to plan routes and do navigation rerouting without internet connection.

  • Route planning: all routing calculations fallback to offline routing profile when there is no online connection.
  • Navigation: offline partial rerouting is calculated from user’s location to the route (based on rerouting mode). Offline reroute section joins the rest of the existing curvy route and navigation continues on the merged route. Every other rerouting activity works similarly offline, like avoid road block or skip next waypoint.
  • Offline routing calculations use the fastest profile (no curvy algorithms).

You can select the active routing service(s) in “Settings | Routing | Routing service”.

GraphHopper offline routing requires graphs (folders of routing data):

  • There are available offline graphs for each region in our download server (like offline maps)
  • Unpack the downloaded zip in the mobile and load the graph via Kurviger menu “Routing | Open data”

  • Select one of the GraphHopper options in Kurviger “Settings | Routing | Routing service”

There is no straightforward cross border GraphHopper offline routing yet. You can use special region wide graphs, like Alps or DACH (Germany+Austria+Switzerland).

BRouter offline routing (with cross border support):

  • Install BRouter app from Google Play
  • Open BRouter and select Download manager or storage location of data

  • Zoom and select the region for offline routing and start downloading

  • Select one of the BRouter options in Kurviger “Settings | Routing | Routing service”

Note: BRouter app must remain installed, as it’s used for routing and downloads.
